Super smart
Just woke up to this vidio. This is what my dad dreamed about doing. Sailing ⛵️ on the ocean............ he's Sailing the big ocean in heaven now, rip dad, 😢
It's supposed to be on the water, the base has to be cold to condense the water vapour, everytime you lift it out you slow it down.
Today was first time I sailed in Lake, watched your video so many times before that. Lots of useful info. But for love of life.. I simply couldn't make that stupid boat go "against" wind direction. I was almost 2h in same spot.. Managed only 100-200m.. The part of lake is quite narrow.. 200-300m I went from one side to other but I couldn't make it go the direction I came from... Went zig zag.. Tried close hauling, close reach.. Most frustrating day of my life... Only progress I was able to do was starboard tack.. And only if wind picked up a little... I can't figure what was the issue why I couldn't go where I needed... Not enough wind? Ended up stopping motorboat and asked them to tow me back.. Either way.. Good experience
I made something similar for a fifth grade science fair back in the 90s. It consisted of a cereal bowl containing salt water dyed green, a large glass saucepan lid suspended above where the condensate water built up, and an oven pan at the bottom that collected the clean water that dripped down. I remember asking the teacher if I could keep the project next to a window with direct sunlight or else it wouldn't work. It was obviously not a new concept as similar contraptions were in a lot of survival books at the time, but I managed to win first place as my project also explained the whole evaporation and condensation process.
newer solar panels accept UV rays from both sides. UV rays bounce off the water and the boat and bounce upward making it more efficient than one sided solar panels. You can use the dual sided panels if you park the dinghy directly underneath.
Cool 👌👍
Interesting device. I wonder if it would work better if it had a slightly silvered inside. Can it be cleaned?
some one commented their grand father had a still but it wasnt for Water...omg lllolzz
why did he not Drink it on the video... Strange..... i saw episode of isba and the guy made alot of water from a solar still and was happy then he drank it and it and it was salty & he failed, then he said later he figured out how it really works.. that was interesting... some times if you see water being gathered it might not be working right. so you really have to know what is happening with the still...
I see the same problem I have with my solar oven. . . the condensation blocks some of the solar energy. must he a way to correct that.
ruclips.net/video/g1asqRTn-30/видео.html
does it require license to drive ?
Yes
Future me is going to use this. Hopefully. Idk, it's just what I'm telling myself.
Not tzatziki, it is called Haydari and it is a Turkish food :/
Another way to make one, if you are lucky enough to have a large plastic sheet in your lifeboat, is to gets some clothes, or towels, soak them in sea water, form them into a ring shape, an annulus at the bottom of the boat, place a plastic cup or something to catch the condensate, at the centre of the ring of wet salty clothes, cover with the plastic sheet, with something heavy in the middle of the sheet, over the cup, at the lowest point, a stone or something solid would suffice, and hold the perimeter of the plastic sheet tight. It will only fill up slowly with drinking water, but it could save your life!
Very good explanation, very easy to understand, I like the "sails are happy now". What boat did you sailing and in which lake?
Thanks 🙏 Its Monas
@@IgorStropnik sorry, Monas is the location or the boat type?

Hey @IgorStropnik. Where is this location of the pirate wine cellar please? Nice video by the way.
Thanks 🙏 I will post video about that place soon 👍
Not so much of a course per se, but a very good introduction to sailing. Thank you, sir.
Thanks 🙏
That was the most boring, slow and mumbling accent video I've seen in a while. I have no idea if it actually worked or a month later you got a few ounces. 🙄😣
Hands down-- The Best Sailing Channel!
Thanks 🙏
Watched the entire thing as usual. Thanks man.
🙌👍🍻
A Hobie 16 took 13th place in the Race to Alaska in June. Seven hundred fifty miles, from Victoria B.C. to Ketchikan, Alaska, in 9 days. The next R2AK is in 2026. I think you're ready, but dress warm!
On bucket list 🙌👍
may I know what boat you are sailing?
Monas
@@IgorStropnik thanks 😄
Planujesz może jakieś odcinki w polskiej wersji językowej?
There is auto translation in YT.
Thoughtful real comments. I appreciate your videos.
Thanks 🙏
Great instructions! Thank you for the video, in which country was this? The surroundings look really nice
Thanks 🙏 Austria 🇦🇹
thanks man
🙌🍻
Would have made for a more compelling video had you tried the water at the end
Very informative video, thanks a lot! One question though: What is the problem in getting close to Africa? If I would be close to it I would love to get closer and see the big sand dunes and maybe other exciting landscapes.
Thanks 🙏 Just scared of unknown.
Nekad se jedrilo bez pajeti na kuverti i sidrilo bez pajeti na boku . . . okay, tako je lakše, ali ovi koji su na brodu pare redikuli, ali oni to i neznaju 🙂
Great video
Thanks 🙏
Hi Igor! Ive been watching your videos for quite some time and I love them, most honest reviews you can find on youtube. We have been cruising on motor boats for the last 12 years, currently owning Azimut 47. We are thinking about trying out a catamaran. What catamaran would you recommend for family of 5 for sailing the mediterranean?
Thanks 🙏 Any catamaran is good for med.
Love your videos, what boat is this?
Monas

CHUG! CHUG! CHUG!
Doesn't look durable
No ice though.
“You see this boom boom” all boats have this
Questioning the lack of a life preserver especially on a boat with the boom at forehead level. Clunk, unconscious, overboard, dead
Just be careful using that seat on your exposed trampoline - The legs will eat holes in it, and you might find yourself in a bad situation. You should put some sort of a padded cover below it. I think that hat is awesome - I just bought one on your recommendation :D
Have better chair now 🙌👍
lol, I've watched a bunch of sailing videos, kind of half amused. I'm at the 4:30 mark, and due to this excellent tutorial, I know more than I ever did about the basic mechanics, and think to 'self'; hey , who knows, I can see how I might even take an interest in sailing. 😄
👍🙌
By far the best sailing channel. Combining theory and practice, as well as a good sense of humor 😆
Thanks 🙏
Who else is here from watching I shouldn’t be alive ?
Water or death.
It depends on temperature a bit
Damit hätten wir den Krieg gewinnen können.
Thanks for the videos. I've always wanted to sail around the world, but due to motion sickness and my minimal experiences I have had with a mono-hull that I owned for a while I doubt I would make a good sailor.
Thanks 🙏
What do you do with all the salt that get’s collected in there?
This is a floating variant of a camping trick with clear plastic, a small rock and a bucket.
@igorstropnik Where do you get this still from? You should have a link to where we can purchase it, and at least some information on what kind of still it is... You could get an affiliate agreement with the manufacturer and be monetized for the sales you get from recommending it!
